So April 4 2012 at 7:39pmI called Vivian and told her about the sink. She was going to send the plumber out again to snake the drain. The plumber won't be able to make it out until April 5. It was bad because we had to limit our water use cause everything was draining into the utility sink. All of us couldn't shower in the evening. so I went without a shower He comes back out snake the drain again. By this time I'm getting frustrated as to why they can't get this fixed correct. Vivian and the plumber talk about giving us some root kill to put in the pipe at night to clear the drain. Sat. April 7 the sink backed up again. I was very upset because we had family and friends coming over to celebrate our 10 month old son we were adopting. My son and I kept checking the sink every time someone use the toilet and try to limit our water use. I call Vivian and told her. I think it was Sunday night she left the root kill at our house. we used it that night and everything seemed ok for a couple of days. I was able to wash clothes with no problems. Then it backed up again. When I wash dishes the big pipe would leak and the sink would fill up with my dirty dish water. When I spoke with her she told me that if she had to dig up the pipe in the front yard that she would not have the money to fix it and will have to let us out of our lease. Len the plumber came out on the 11th and the confirmed that the pipe will have to be dug up in the front yard. April 19th I call to let her know it is still backing up in the utility sink and she tells me that the pipe is busted and she doesn't have the $5000 to fix it. We go out on the evening of the 20th. We get back home around 11pm and find the ceiling near the kitchen sink has fallen in and there is a big hole in the ceiling right under the bathroom tub. Oh yeah it rain and the rug is still wet in the basement from the first week we moved in.
I was willing to let some things with this house go by because I was grateful to have a home but now I feel a need to list all the problems we found.
- We had to get a pole cut for the coat closet because the one that was in there was just for show, as soon as you put a coat on it it fell. It needed to be 1/4 inch longer to fit in the closet properly
- The oven door handle comes off when the oven is heated
- The oven shuts off cause the automatic oven cleaner handle does not stay in place and moves so the oven shuts off while cooking.
- Pantry door came off the first day we moved here
- My son's bedroom door is put on crooked so he can't close his door.
- There are mice in the oven. I have personally seen them go back into the burner area when entering the kitchen.
- The carpet in the master bedroom stinks
- roaches have been found in the bathroom and kitchen.
- There are several paint cans and carpet remnants left in the basement
- the water faucet in the front of the house does not work. Plumber said the pipe is busted.
- carpets are filthy when we moved in.
- Hot water faucet in bathroom makes a very loud knocking noise when turned on.
- mailbox barely hanging on by rusty nails. Came home to it on by 1 nail.
So in 1 month this is what my family has to deal with. I am recovering from breast cancer surgery and we just bought home a 10 moth old baby. Within 3 week we are told we need to move.
I just kept hearing how she does not have much money, so I didn't complain about the list of things but the plumbing is major and now I have to spend money to wash cloths outside my home and I have a to care for. This is so unfair to us.
